Betty Bea Washburn
“My goal is to infuse the painting with energy that remains within the work long after the brush has been lifted from the paper.”
Betty Bea started painting professionally in 1979 placing her work in public and private domains. Most notable, her work comprises the entire collection of Southwestern Michigan Rehabilitation Center in Battle Creek Michigan consisting of seventy paintings and one mural. In addition, thirty of her paintings are in the permanent collection of Oakland Hospital in Marshall Michigan.
She enjoys sharing her experiences and talent with adult students in watercolors and continues to paint for gallery collections.
A graduate of the College of Wooster, Ohio with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Art Education and a Masters in Education from Western Michigan University. Betty Bee has invested thirty years as a public school teacher and is now retired.
